	This Vidyalaya is one of the schools under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body (registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860). The Sangathan was set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to establish, administer and manage the Kendriya Vidyalayas.

GENESIS OF KV

Kendriya Vidyalaya No II, Bolangir was started in civil sector in 1992 with classes upto I to VI under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble District Magistrate and Collector Shri. N Sanyal IAS and under the Principalship of Shri. L K Panda. The Vidyalaya was housed in a temporary building sponsored by the District Administration at Larkipalli, 10 kms away from the town.

Important milestones of growth

1. 1992 Classes started from I to VI in temporary building with a strength of 92 students

2. 1995 The Vidyalaya got affiliation from CBSE

3. 2005 The Vidyalaya got shifted to permanent building, A Type in a campus of 15 acres of land on lease from the state Govt. for 99 years.

6. 2007 Construction of 17 Staff quarters in the campus in progress.

7. 2009 Sanction accorded for upgradation of the Vidyalaya to Type A1 with vertical extension for two sections.

8. Presently the Vidyalaya has an enrolment of 491 students from class I to Class XII ( Science stream)

Gradual year wise expansion with classes and sections leading t o present status

1. 1992 ---- Inception of the Vidyalaya. At Larkipalli, 10 kms

away from the main town, in a temporary building with

classes up to I to VI

2. 1996---- Class X first batch

3. 1997---- Class X first batch appeared for CBSE Examination

4. 2000--- Class XII first batch appeared for CBSE

Examination

5. 2005--- Shifting of the Vidyalaya to new building at Shastri

Nagar

6. 2009--- Sanction accorded for the upgradation of the

Vidyalaya to A1 Type.

1	Laboratories	Since the Vidyalaya building was sanctioned for up to Class X, laboratories as per the KVS norms are not there. However. Other rooms are used for the purpose.
2	Vidyalaya Campus	Almost 10 Acres land is underutilized due to uneven and undulated nature water courses cutting across the campus.
3	Sports and Games	Since the grounds is not completely leveled by the construction agency, facilities are not there for major games such as Football and athletic events
4	Cycle stand	Estimates submitted and administrative approval awaited.
5	Children’s park	Estimate from CPWD awaited
6	Assembly Ground	Estimate submitted and Administrative approval awaited
7	Basket ball court	First installment remitted with CPWD but the work not yet started.
8	Staff Quarters and KVS Residence Colony	First and Second phase quarters construction civil work almost completed and electrical work not started.
